Rich-ish: Business Tycoon ("the game", "we", "us") is an offline idle business game for Android, made by an independent solo developer. This policy explains what information the game handles, who handles it, and the choices you have. In short: your game stays on your phone, we run no accounts or servers, and the only outside services the game uses are Google's (ads, purchases, reviews, and Firebase app analytics and crash reports).
The game is published on Google Play by the developer named on its Google Play store page. You can reach us at the developer email address shown there (see "Contact" below).
Everything you do in the game is saved only on your phone, in the app's private storage. This includes your progress (cash, businesses, properties, banking, market holdings and rewards), your life in the game (the name and avatar you choose, family, friends, travel, passions, study and records) and your settings. The names of family members, friends and townspeople are invented by the game; they are not taken from your contacts or from anywhere else.
We do not run accounts or servers. We never receive, sell or share this data. (The usage statistics and crash reports in section 5 are separate and never include your saved game.) If you uninstall the game or clear its storage, it is deleted. If your phone's own Android backup is turned on, Android may include the game's save in your personal Google backup; that backup is handled by Google under your Google account and we cannot see it.
The game can turn your progress into a backup code so you can move to a new phone. The code is made on your phone and contains only your game progress. It goes wherever you choose to copy, paste or share it. Anyone who has your code can load your progress, so keep it somewhere private. The game never uploads it.
The game offers optional rewarded ads, for example "watch an ad to double your earnings". Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and use your device's advertising ID, IP address (which can indicate approximate location), device and app information, diagnostics, and how you interact with ads. Google explains this in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), the game shows Google's consent form before ads are personalised. You can change your choice at any time from Home › My game › Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. Watching ads is always optional, and the Ad Pass removes the need to watch them.
From version 7 the game uses Google Firebase, a Google service, to understand how the game is played and to fix problems. Your saved game itself is never uploaded.
Google processes this data for us under the Firebase privacy and security information and the Google Privacy Policy. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days. Where Google's consent form applies (EEA, UK, Switzerland), analytics storage follows the choice you make there.
In-app purchases (cash packs, bundles, the Ad Pass and the Tycoon Pass) are processed by Google Play under Google's terms and privacy policy. We never see or store your payment details. Google Play only tells the game which item you bought so it can be delivered and restored.
Reviews: if you choose to rate the game, Google Play shows and handles the review card under Google's privacy policy. The game does not see your review.
Feedback: the feedback button opens your own email app with a message addressed to the developer. Nothing is sent unless you press send. The email contains only what you write, plus (if you leave the box ticked) the game version, your rank and your screen size. We use your email only to read and reply to your message, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
If you share a card of your empire, the game draws an image on your phone (it can show the name you chose in the game and your in-game figures) and passes it to Android's share sheet. It goes only to the app and people you pick. The game itself uploads nothing.
The game can remind you when something needs you, for example a loan that is due or earnings that are waiting. These reminders are scheduled on your phone; they are not sent from a server. Separately, we may occasionally send news or event notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging (see section 5), on the "News and events" channel. On Android 13 and later you are asked for permission first. They are quiet between 10 pm and 8 am, and you can turn them off in Settings or in your Android settings at any time. The game asks Android to restore planned reminders after your phone restarts.
The game does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files or location.
Data exchanged with Google for ads, purchases, reviews, analytics and crash reports is encrypted in transit. Game data stays on your phone until you clear it or uninstall the game. We keep no copy of your game.
The game's content is suitable for all ages. The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us an email, contact us and we will delete it.
Rich-ish is a work of fiction. Its people, businesses, brands, coins and events are invented, and any resemblance to real persons, companies or events is coincidental. Nothing in the game is financial, investment, legal or tax advice.
If this policy changes, the new version is published at the same address and inside the game, with a new "Last updated" date.
For privacy questions or requests, email the developer at the address listed under "Developer contact" on the game's Google Play store page.
